I have just purchased a Kenmore sewing machine and I am trying to get more accessories such as buttonhole foot etc. Looking on Kenmore website some feet are to be used with vertical sewing machines other with horizontal ones and I have no idea what is the difference between the two of them. And also, if my sewing machine is Kenmore do I have to buy feet for it only from Kenmore or any other cheaper brand would work, too? Thank you in advance for your help.

I’ve got a Singer Advance sewing machine. I was sewing fine all night. But now when I press the pedal it “beeps.” I can’t find the manual. I checked what I could think of, and turned it off and on, still it only beeps when I press the foot pedal. Any ideas?
Thanks for the research about the needle being up. Actually, no, I’ve tried moving the needle up or down via the knob on the right, there’s no problem there. Also, the people on that site were talking about a difficult to use embroidery machine. I really just have a straight up sewing machine. And somehow now when I press the pedal it goes “beep beep…beep beep…beep beep” as if I’m supposed to know what that means. I guess I’m not the only one stumped

I’m sewing on a Shark mini sewing machine…or attempting to sew on it, at least. I have not been able to do any stitches. I know I’m threading the needle correctly, but I don’t know how to rig the bobbin. Please help! I’d get my mom to help but she already broke our sewing machine’s bobbin.
It’s not the same sewing machine that’s broken. And I don’t have the manual anymore.

Hello. My mother bought me a Quikstitch portable sewing machine last year, because I asked her for a decent sewing machine so I can sew regular clothes like shirts and skirts.

Since its portable is it only useful for “touchups” only or can I use it make regular clothes.

The sewing machine presently in use has problems with the tension knobs. It is more than fifteen years old. Have the features on newer machines changed drastically and is it practical to invest in a newer moderate priced machine — $200 range – versus having this older one repaired. The sewing machine will be used for quilting and home sewing projects. I’m not into fancy embroidering stitches but zig-zag is useful. Can anyone recommend the merits of different brands.
